I developed a new logo for Dam Right Drag Night in Corvallis. I provided my services at a discount because it was a cause I cared about, and I appreciated contributing to the culture and nightlife of Corvallis.
Starting Point
I was provided with a sketch an artist had developed. Using this and some pointers from the DRDN leadership, I began my drafting process.
First Drafts
The DRDN team wanted to communicate the combination of femininity and masculinity that Drag produces. Using this direction, I came up with two distinct directions. At first they couldn't choose, so we refined both slightly and a winner was revealed.
Second Drafts
After reviewing new drafts of the beard, the group determined that the lips and mustache spoke more to the look DRDN wanted to embody. I was asked to explore a "John Waters" mustache because "the reference to him is aligns with our group".
